Ladyjack Volleyball Scrimmage Ends in a Tie

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team kicked off the 2002 season Thursday night with its annual Purple and White scrimmage match at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The match ended in a 1-1 tie.
Senior Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) led all players with her 10 kills on 17 attacks (.588 attack percentage). Wilson's 10 kills led the white past the purple team, 30-16, in game one. The purple squad fought back to tie the match in game two with their 15-7 victory. Senior Angie Wood (Houston, Texas) led the purple team with her five kills.
Senior Sunni Williams (Houston, Texas) recorded a match-high 13 assists for the white squad. Sophomore setter Marlo Nordt (The Woodlands, Texas) dished out 12 assists to lead the purple team. Freshman Robyn Daniels (Montgomery, Texas) led all players with her eight digs.
SFA assistant coach Jennie Collings is now 2-2-1 (.500 winning percentage) when going head-to-head against Ladyjack head coach Debbie Humphreys in the Purple and White scrimmage.
The Ladyjacks kick off the 2002 regular season Friday Aug. 30, against New Mexico in the Wichita State Tournament, in Wichita, Kan.
