Ladyjack Volleyball Releases 2002 Schedule

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team released its 2002 schedule Thursday. It is highlighted by three non-conference tournaments and a return trip to Louisiana Tech.
SFA kicks off the season Aug. 30 with a double-header at the Wichita State tournament in Wichita, Kansas. The Ladyjacks will open against tournament-host Wichita State and will conclude the day with a match against Miami (Fla.). The Ladyjacks return to action the following day against Georgia. SFA will hit the road for Orlando, Fla., the following week to compete in the Central Florida Tournament in Orlando, Fla. SFA opens against tournament-host Central Florida on Sept. 6 and will close the tournament with a doubleheader against Northeastern and Idaho State on Sept. 7. SFA returns to the Lone Star State Sept. 13 and 14 for the TCU tournament. The Ladyjacks will take on tournament host Texas Christian Sept. 13 while closing against Miami (Ohio) and San Jose State. SFA will also have non-conference dates at Louisiana Tech (Oct. 1) and against Rice (Nov. 5).
The Ladyjacks home-opener on Sept. 17 against Sam Houston State will also be the Ladyjacks' league opener. SFA has league home dates against Southwest Texas (Sept. 24), McNeese State (Sept. 27), Lamar (Sept. 28), Nicholls State (Oct. 11), Southeastern Louisiana (Oct. 12), Northwestern State (Oct. 25), Louisiana-Monroe (Oct. 26), Texas-Arlington (Nov. 8) and Texas-San Antonio (Nov. 12).
SFA will be away from the William R. Johnson Coliseum for SLC dates at Northwestern State (Sept. 20), UL-Monroe (Sept. 21), UT-Arlington (Oct. 4), Southwest Texas (Oct. 17), UT-San Antonio (Sept. 19), Sam Houston State (Oct. 22), McNeese State (Nov. 1), Lamar (Nov. 2), Nicholls State (Nov. 15) and Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 16). The Southland Conference Championships will be held Nov. 22-24 in Nacogdoches.
