PLANO, Texas - Senior Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) was named Southland Conference co-offensive player of the week announced the league office Tuesday. It is the second time this season that a Ladyjack has received the honor.
Wilson guided the Ladyjacks to victories over Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana last week in the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Wilson was near perfect against the Colonels, recording 22 kills on 35 attempts, without an error. She finished the match with a .629 attack percentage. She also recorded six blocks and four digs against NSU. Wilson came out the following day and recorded a 19-kill, 12-dig and five-block performance against the Lady Lions. She finished the week with a .386 attack percentage.
Wilson was recognized along with Louisiana-Monroe's Janelle Chase who recorded a career-high 22 kills and 10 blocks in the Indians' victory over Southwest Texas.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Thursday night, when they travel to San Marcos, Texas to take on Southwest Texas. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m., at Strahan Coliseum.
