Ladyjack Volleyball Beats Texas-Arlington

Arlington, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team (10-4/4-1) picked up its fourth conference victory of the season with its 3-1 (21-30, 30-25, 30-25, 30-27) victory over Texas-Arlington Saturday night.
The Ladyjacks were led by junior Angie Wood (Houston, Texas) who recorded a season and team-high 22 kills. Senior Kristy Rhodes (Cypress, Texas) also struck for 17 kills on .350 attack percentage. Senior Marissa Dorcheus (Houston, Texas) had another solid night leading the Ladyjacks with 57 assists and five block assists.
"We played better tonight." said SFA head coach Debbie Humphreys. "We were more aggressive and focused and that was evident in the outcome of the match. We kept our heads in the match tonight and had a much different result."
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday, Oct. 2, against Nicholls State. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Admission is free to students.
