Ladyjack Volleyball Picked to Finish Third

Nacogdoches - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team has been picked to finish third in a poll of the league coaches announced the Southland Conference Friday.
The Ladyjacks received four first-place votes and 175 total points for third-place. The SFA total was only one point behind Texas-San Antonio, who received six first-place votes and 176 points for second place. Lamar was selected as the favorite to win the league title with nine first-place votes and 186 total points.
SFA head coach Debbie Humphreys returns 10 letterwinners and five starters from her 2000 squad that finished 18-13 overall and 13-7 in the Southland Conference. The Ladyjacks kickoff the 2001 season Aug. 31, at the Rice Tournament against Houston. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from Houston, Texas.
