Zane Worsencroft enters his first season on the SFA softball staff, where he will oversee the Lumberjacks' outfield and base running.
Last season, Worsencroft was an assistant coach at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX and later took on the title of Interim Head Coach for the Ladyjackets. In his lone season at HPU, Worsencroft coached nine players to postseason accolades including Elise Munoz, who was also named to the ASC All-Tournament and ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Teams.
Prior to HPU, Worsencroft spent eight years in the U.S. Navy, working overseas in information technology and later moved into the private sector in operations management.
A native of Texas, Worsencroft was a standout baseball player at Palestine High School, earning 2013 All-East Texas Baseball Team Honorable Mention and District 19-3A Defensive Player of the Year. His success led him to continue his career at Lyon College in Arkansas, before playing internationally from 2021–2023 with Reggia Caserta in the Federazione Italiana Baseball Serie C League.
Coach “Croft” lives in Nacogdoches with his wife, Sujeily, daughter Presley, and sons Junior and Kaleb.
