Melanie Jaegers enters her first season with the Lumberjack Softball Program and will be serving as the Assistant Coach to Jeff Jackson. Melanie comes from Mesquite Texas where she attended Horn High School and was a dual-sport athlete where she played both volleyball and softball. Jaegers would later go onto commit to playing softball at Wichita State where she would be named a 2013 NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and named to the 2014 All-MVC Scholar Athlete First Team. In 2014, she was named to the All-MVC First Team as well as receiving MVC Player of the Week honors on March 10, 2014.
Melanie graduated from Wichita State with a Master’s Degree in Sports Management where she then accepted a position as Assistant Softball Coach at Western Texas College for one season. After spending one season at Western Texas College, Melanie went onto to accept an assistant coach position at Odessa College where she worked side-by-side with current SFA Head Coach Jeff Jackson where she spent three seasons in the assistant coach position at Odessa. While at Odessa, Melanie was named the NJCAA Division 1 Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2020, and spent six seasons with the Wranglers before coming to SFA over the summer with Jeff Jackson.
