NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program travels to Huntsville for the 84th all-time matchup against the Sam Houston Bearkats.

SCOUTING SAM HOUSTON
• Sam enters this matchup with a 5-1 record and most recently won a five-set battle against UT-Arlington.
• Sophomore, Chloe Monson leads the Bearkats offensively with 86 kills and averaged 3.91 kills per set.
• Freshman, Brenlin Garlitz and junior Lauren Pyle run Sam's 6-2 offense with over 100 assists each.
• Sophomore, Bella Wood applies the service pressure with a team-leading nine aces, followed by seven from Pyle.
• Junior, Shaelin White holds down the backline with 104 digs while senior, Rachelle Reed and junior Chelsea Butler lead the Bearkats' block with 29 and 24 blocks, respectively.

• SFA holds a 42-27 advantage in the Battle of the Piney Woods.
• The Ladyjacks have won six of the last four matchups and hold a 15-12 record in Huntsville.
HELLO, OLD FRIEND
• SFA's Debbie Humphreys and Sam Houston's Brenda Gray are both recognized as two of the top three longest-tenured active coaches in Division I volleyball.
• Humphreys has been coaching for 39 years, while Gray is in her 43rd season.
• Both coaches have spent their entire careers at one institution.
• Gray is eight wins away from her 800th career win and will join Humphreys as the only two active coaches to achieve 800 wins with one program. Humphreys earned that distinction in 2023 against Boise State.
BACK-TO-BACK NODS
• Caroline Kahle earned her second straight All-Tournament team after being named to the SFA All-Tournament Team last weekend with 22 kills and 22 digs.
• Kyanna Creecy also earned All-Tournament after recording 11 kills, hitting .333 and six blocks.
