Jacks Salvage Series with 11-8 Comeback Victory over NSU
4/26/2026 5:21:00 PM | Baseball
SFA records 16 hits, produces a pair of five-run frames and overcomes five errors to snap five-game losing streak
The host Demons built a 5-0 lead tagging two runs in the first and single tallies in the second, third and fourth innings. SFA's first big frame came in the fifth as RBI singles by Cermodrick Bland, Julian Swift, Henning, Juan Cantua and Coby DeJesus evened the contest at five with the latter two base knocks coming with two outs.
Northwestern managed to keep tacking on as the Demons retook the lead in the home half with a single run before adding a run in both the sixth and seventh innings to carry an 8-6 lead after seven. The sixth run for the Jacks crossed in the sixth as Henning plated Bland.
The Jacks were just getting started and the top of the eighth proved profitable as a second five-run frame was in order. Creel exited the yard to right field for a two-run blast with one out to tie the contest and Evan Aslaksen followed with a base hit through the left side to score Swift and give the Jacks a 9-8 advantage. Run-scoring singles on the right side of the field by DeJesus and Rodric Black served as insurance, but Reid Bowyer faced just one over the minimum with two strikeouts to shut the door on the Demons.
Dylan Mulcahy worked three innings in a starting role with Charlie Feris and Noah O'Farrell each tossing 1.2 innings of relief. Kadin Munson worked the final two outs of the post-stretch seventh, and became the pitcher of record, before Bowyer pitched the final two frames to lock in the save.
