Lumberjacks Head to Lake Charles for Weekend Series

After breaking the nation’s longest winning streak, the Jacks make a quick turnaround as they head to McNeese for a three-game series.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team will make the quick trip to Lake Charles for their series against the McNeese Cowgirls Friday and Saturday.
SERIES SCHEDULE
• Friday, April 17 will be a single game at 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 18 will be a doubleheader at 1:00 and 3:30 p.m.
• All games will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
SCOUTING MCNEESE
• McNeese enters this weekend series with a 28-18 record and are coming off a 2-1 midweek series win over Houston Christian.
• The Cowgirls are currently in a three-way tie for fourth in the conference standings with Lamar and Northwestern State.
• Nyjah Fontenot leads the team with a .371 batting average and with 46 hits.
• Rylee Cloud follows Fontenot with a .326 average and 43 hits.
• Alexis Dibbley leads the Cowgirls with 14 doubles followed by 10 from Cloud.
• Cloud leads the team with four triples while Maddie Taylor leads McNeese with nine homeruns and 40 RBIs.

• Maddie Taylor not only leads the team in homeruns, but she has the second best ERA at 4.15 and has nine wins on the season in 77.2 innings of work.

• The Lumberjacks snapped the Lions nation leading 25-game win streak in the series finale with a walk-off homerun from Ella Hill.
• Seven different Lumberjacks recorded a hit with Jamie Varga being the only one with multiple hits.
• Adelyn Becerra, Kyi'Marri Ester, Malia Jones, and Ella Hill each recorded an RBI.
