Privateers pull away with six-run eighth inning
SFA collected 13 hits in the loss with Julian Swift leading with a double and a home run as part of a four-hit afternoon. Jhett Creel and Juan Cantua also doubled, and Ethan Peña homered. The Jacks used ten arms in game three with Dylan Mulcahy striking out five, while allowing two runs on six hits in three innings of work.
The Jacks struck first as Cantua plated Swift on a double with two outs in the second. Cooper Schneider then plated Cantua on a single as SFA staked Mulcahy to a 2-0 lead. New Orleans responded with two runs in the third and took the lead with three runs in the fifth, while the Jacks left runners in scoring position in the fourth and fifth innings, before Peña's lead-off, first pitch solo blast in the sixth cut into the UNO lead.
Swift left the yard in the seventh scoring Ibe and pulling the Jacks to 6-5 of the New Orleans lead. The Privateers plated six runs in the eighth on three hits to take control as Peña singled to earn back a single run in the ninth.
