Lumberjacks Head to Ruston for the Bulldog Classic

Jacks look to stay hot after winning seven of their last eight games.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team will travel to Louisiana Tech for their final non-conference tournament of the 2026 season.
WEEKEND SCHEDULE
• SFA will begin the tournament on Thursday, February 26 with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch against Northern Iowa.
• The Jacks will face host Louisiana Tech on Friday, February 27 at 3:30 p.m.
• SFA will close their tournament slate on Saturday, February 28 against Northern Iowa at 1:00 p.m. and Central Arkansas at 3:30 p.m.
WHERE TO TUNE IN
• Our Friday game against Louisiana Tech will be the ONLY game streamed on ESPN+.
• Live stats will be available on sfajacks.com for all games.
LAST TIME OUT
• SFA secured a walk-off run rule victory over the UTA Mavs, 14-6. This is their second game scoring 14 runs this season.
• Malia Jones led the offense going 2-3 with five RBIs, two runs, and two home runs.
• Jamie Varga, Adelyn Becerra, and Kara Pride each recorded two hits with Becerra and Pride each bringing in two RBIs.
• Kai Hudson picked up her second collegiate win, while Reagan Hall pitched 2.1 innings in relief, and Amelia Hatthorn secured the final defensive out for SFA in the top of the sixth.
SCOUTING UNI
• The Panthers head to Ruston with a 6-6 record and are coming off the heels of a run rule loss at Louisiana on Tuesday night.
• Four Panthers have recorded double digits hits, led by Skylar Benesh with 19 followed by Sykora Smith with 17.
• Katelyn Callahan leads the team with five doubles followed closely by Kate Lappe who has four.
• Lappe leads UNI with six home runs with Benesh closely behind with five.
• Lappe has brought in a team-leading 16 runs followed by Brynn Acton who has 12 RBIs.
• In the circle, Ashlyn Enke leads the pitching staff with a 5.15 ERA and 20 strikeouts while Anna Wischnowski leads the team with 28.2 innings pitched.
SCOUTING LOUISIANA TECH
• The host Bulldogs enter the week with a 12-3 record and are coming off a non-conference series win over Southern Miss last weekend.
• Three Bulldogs are tied for the team lead with 18 hits, Aleah Brooks, Elena Heng, Bradi Gallaway.
• Brooks and Reese Torres lead LT with five doubles each.
• Torres is tied with Gallaway and Reagan Marchant for the team lead in home runs with three.
• Torres also leads the team with 15 RBIs followed by 11 from Marchant and Gallaway.
• The Bulldog pitching staff boasts a 2.33 team ERA with Allie Floyd leading the way with a 1.71 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 45.0 innings of work.
SCOUTING CENTRAL ARKANSAS
• The Bears enter this week with a 9-6 record and are on a two-game win streak with a chance to upset Ole Miss on Wednesday night.
• Five Bears have recorded double digit hits with Trinity Brandon leading the way with 18 hits and seven of them are doubles.
• Emma Robertson leads UCA with three home runs and 13 RBIs.
• Jaleigh White leads the pitching staff with a 1.64 ERA and is second on the team with 15 strikeouts.
• Ballie Runner leads the staff with 19 strikeouts and four complete games.
BOMBS AWAY
• The Jacks have hit 14 homeruns this season.
• Malia Jones leads the team with five, after hitting two in SFA's run rule victory over UTA.
• Ella Hill is second on the team with four, three of which she hit during the first day of the Roadrunner Classic.
• Kara Pride and Adelyn Becerra each have two while Lilly Bean has one.
PITCHING ON LOCKDOWN
• The staff for SFA holds a 2.67 ERA this season, led by freshman, Kai Hudson with a 1.27 ERA.
• Crimson Bryant is the strikeout queen with 37 on the season including 14 in her Lumberjack debut after transferring from UT Tyler. Bryant leads the team with 33.1 innings pitched.
• Amelia Hatthorn leads the Jacks with 10 appearances and a 3-1 record in 24.1 innings of work.
