SFA readies for first of three midweek matchups with Big 12 opponents
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Fresh off earning a four-game split with Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Stephen F. Austin is back at it on Tuesday with a trip to Waco to take on Baylor. THE SERIES
--- The Jacks are winless against the Bears in 26 meetings. The series started in 1991 with multiple games contested every year through 1995. The two sides squared off in weekend series in 2006 and 2007 with the last eight games all single contests including each of the past three seasons. All but two of the matchups have been in Waco. The Jacks tossed the ball to Seanan Farney who went 3.0 innings in a starting role allowing just two free passes with five strikeouts as he faced two over the minimum before giving way to five relievers, the first of which was Gage Elliott (W, 1-0) who went 2.0 innings with two punchouts to earn the victory. Jack James, Kadin Munson, Nate Bergeron and Ayden Terry all tossed a frame with James and Terry facing the minimum. Ethan Adkisson caught all six arms which totaled 11 punchouts and relied on a defense that recorded seven flyouts and seven groundouts with Bergeron receiving a 4-6-3 double play to end the eighth.
