Adelyn Becerra Blasts Walk-Off Homerun to Lift Jacks over Panthers

Becerra hits her first homerun of the season to secure a 2-0 win
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team played their first game at the SFA Softball Field of the 2026 season against the Prairie View A&M Panthers.
Kai Hudson drew her first collegiate start in the circle for the Lumberjacks in their 2026 home slate. This game quickly became a pitcher's duel as both pitchers threw seven scoreless innings. In the top of the eighth, Jordyn Ages replaced Hudson in the circle and threw two scoreless innings. In the bottom of the ninth, Kara Pride hit a leadoff single down the right field line before Adelyn Becerra launched a ball over the center field wall for a walk-off homerun, 2-0.
POSTGAME NOTES
• Six different Lumberjacks recorded a hit in today's game.
• Ellie Vance went 3-4 from the plate with a double.
• Adelyn Becerra went 2-4 with a run, a double, a game-winning home runs and two RBIs.
• Kai Hudson and Jordyn Ages combined for a complete game shutout, allowed five hits and struck out seven batters total.
• Hudson set a new career high with six strikeouts in today's game.
UP NEXT
SFA will head to San Antonio to compete in the Roadrunner Classic hosted by UTSA. The Jacks will start off their tournament schedule against UMass Lowell and Northern Colorado on Friday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.
