THE RECENT SERIES
--- The Jacks and the Rams meet for the second-straight season following last spring's 10-3 win by the Lumberjacks.
RAMS RUNDOWN
2026 Season Statistics
--- Huston Tillotson enters with a dozen games under their '26 belt. The Rams are 7-5 and had won six straight until dropping both ends of a weekend series to NAIA No. 20 Texas A&M-Victoria. Tucker Allen leads the Rams with 13 hits behind a slash of .406/.486/.625. Four other players have recorded seven or more hits with Tucker and Noah Alvarez pacing the club in RBI with eight. On the mound, Ethan Walker and Evan Mendoza are both 2-0. Walker owns a 1.20 ERA and has gone the distance twice. Mendoza leads the staff in punchouts with 17 and is responsible for one of the team's three saves.
GAME ONE, GAME WON.
--- SFA won a season opener for the first time since knocking off Northwestern State in the first game of the 2022 campaign.
AN EYE FOR FIVE
--- SFA's 4-0 start to the season marks just the second time in program history, and the first since 2010, that the Jacks have won their first four games of a campaign. A win over the visiting Rams on Tuesday would give SFA its best start in the program's Division I history.
RUNS, RUNS, RUNS
--- The Jacks pushed across double-digit runs in each of the four games against the Delta Devils. SFA's 17 runs in the season opener are the second-most by the Jacks in any game under second-year head coach Matt Vanderburg and the run output over the four games marked the 11th-14th games with 10+ runs in his tenure. SFA's 56 runs over opening weekend were the fourth-most in the country, while its per-game average of 14.0 currently rates 12th nationally.
PILGRIM'S PARK MASH METRICS
--- The Jacks left the yard twice in Sunday's finale, solo shots off the bats of Josh Ibe and Juan Cantua.

STREAKIN'
--- Eight players have current reached base safely streaks of at least three games this season with Ibe (28), Bland (24) and Julian Swift (17) owning lengthy streaks dating back to last season. Swift is currently riding a 17-game hitting streak, tied for the program's fourth-longest streak since 2006, while Bland owns a 14-game hit streak and Ethan Adkisson sits at nine-straight games with a base knock.
AT THE PLATE
--- Bland and Swift each recorded eight hits over the weekend. Bland led with a dozen total bases behind two doubles and a triple, eight runs scored and five stolen bags. Swift was one of three players (Pena, 9; Creel 8) that recorded seven-plus RBI. Rodric Black, Pena and Creel each collected five hits.
STRONG STARTS
--- The Jacks enjoyed a handful of strong starts over the weekend. Cody Templeton won for the seventh time as a Lumberjack scattering six hits and a run, while striking out eight batters in the season opener. Nate Vidlak capped the series with a perfect four innings of work with seven strikeouts in combining for a shutout in the finale. Gabe LeBlanc allowed just one hit with four Ks in four innings of action as the game three starter.
WHAT A RELIEF
--- Eight Lumberjack arms worked in relief over the four-game series against MVSU. Reid Bowyer and Dylan Mulcahy pitched multiple innings allowing zero runs, while Adrian Rubio and Brennan Greer worked hit-less, three-strikeout frames with Rubio facing the minimum.
FREE PASSES, NO FREE PASSES
--- The Jacks drew 38 walks over the weekend second to only New Mexico (41) during opening weekend. As a staff, the Jacks were stingy issuing free 90s as only four were allowed by the squad in 30.0 innings.
