For the first time in program history, the Lumberjacks held back-to-back Power-4 opponents scoreless and went undefeated.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer team tied in a nail-biting 0-0 draw against the University of Houston on Sunday, September 7.
Houston collected 27 shots in the match, with most of them coming from the first half at 15. Cameryn Maddox led the charge for the Cougars at five shots on the match with 65 minutes played. Lexi Gonzales recorded four saves in the match for Houston, while on offense, 12 different players lined up at least one shot on the night.
SFA once again holds another Power-4 school scoreless, as the defense has now held three straight opponents scoreless. Sierra McCluer has another record night, tying her career saves in a match at 10. SFA averages 86 minutes of play time for defensive players, with Sydney Williams and Avery Brandt clocking a full 90-minute match. Brielle Buchanan attempted three shots trying to push the 'Jacks forward in her 74 minutes of play. On the week for SFA, they have faced a combined shot total of 52 shots from both Texas A&M and Houston, as the stone wall sophomore Sierra McCluer collects 20 saves. Sydney Williams and Bryn Geppert both recorded 180-minute weeks in two matches, and the offense put up 14 shots for the week.
