Southland Players of the Week Sierra McCluer and Sydney Williams march the Lumberjacks into Ruston, Louisiana for first time since 2011.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer travels to Ruston, Louisiana, for a clash with the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech on Thursday, September 11, for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
SFA leads the Bulldogs with four wins and one loss against Louisiana Tech. The last meeting between the two was dated back on September 9, 2011, when the 'Jacks tied in a 1-1 match in Ruston.
The Lumberjacks are headed into the match after a historic week. Southland Defensive Player of the Week and Keeper of the Week, Sydney Williams and Sierra McCluer led the 'Jacks to history after holding back-to-back Power-4 schools scoreless while going unbeaten. Sierra McCluer recorded 180 minutes with 18 total saves, tying her career high in saves against Houston, and extending her clean-sheet streak to three games. SFA has seven goals on the season, led by freshman Taylor Dodson in 426 minutes of play time for the Lumberjacks.
