The SFA offense had all the gears turning in the second set as they quickly grabbed a 14-3 lead thanks to a 9-0 run. ACU slowly chipped away at the lead, but it was not enough to stop the 'Jacks from winning four of the last five sets.
The Wildcats turned the tide on the Ladyjacks in the third set by jumping out to a 9-3 lead. SFA stormed back on an 8-1 spurt to take an 11-10 lead. Both teams traded points for a while before a four-point run from ACU gave them a lead that they held until the end of the set. After three sets the Wildcats held a 2-1 lead.
