NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer team tied in a thrilling 0-0 match against Texas A&M on Thursday, September 4.
For Texas A&M, four defensive players logged 90 minutes in the match alongside their goalkeeper, who was only challenged to four shots against SFA. The Aggies let 25 shots rip against SFA, with 15 in the second half, as eight were on target for the match. Kaylee Noble and Trinity Buchanan led the Aggies with five shots each, as Noble led the team in shots on goal at three.
SFA found nine scoring opportunities in the match, led by Taylor Dodson, who recorded three shots for the 'Jacks. Rachel Robinson, Bryn Geppert, and Sydney Williams all played a full 90-minute match, providing stand-up defense to assist Sierra McCluer in securing her eight-save shutout against Texas A&M. Six Lumberjacks attempted to capitalize on scoring chances, all recording at least one shot in the match. At the same time, only three 'Jacks were able to find a shot on target. SFA now tallies their first draw against Texas A&M and records their first shutout against the Aggies.
