
‘Jacks Draw at Southeastern Louisiana in Offensive Showdown at 2-2

Alexis Miller and Brielle Buchanan both net their third goal of the season this evening.
HAMMOND, La. – Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer drew 2-2 at Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, September 25.
The 'Jacks found the scoreboard in the second half when Brielle Buchanan and Alexis Miller scored just 10 minutes apart in the 55th and 65th minutes. Miller started the scoring with a free-kick from the Southeastern 10-yard line at Strawberry Stadium. Brielle Buchanan was able to take advantage of a swift Lion turnover, quickly turning in the offensive third to bury the second Lumberjack goal, tucking it in the bottom right of the net.
Southeastern Louisiana scored the only goal in the first half by Aja Nelson. Nelson netted her first goal of the year and was assisted by Isabella Fregoso in the 42nd minute. Emma Ramsey scored in the 82nd minute to level the game at 2-2 before the conclusion of the match.
The Lady Lions recorded eight shots in the match, with five on goal. Charlotte Lewis recorded half of the shots with four on the night, and most of the shots on goal with three. Kendall Curran allowed two goals and had five saves in 90 minutes.
The Lumberjacks outshot the Lady Lions 12-8 as Alexis Miller, Alex Bayouth, and Logan Heausler tallied all but one of those shots on the night. SFA had seven shots on goal, as Miller led the 'Jacks with three attempts, with one landing for the Lumberjacks. The 'Jacks defense only allowed SLU to rattle off five shots on goal while Sierra McCluer posted three saves on the night with 90 minutes of action.
