Jayden Flynn’s homecoming features three opponents that finished top 100 in RPI last season
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin will head to Chicago for the Loyola Invitational. They will face the host Ramblers on Thursday, September 11, then Bowling Green on Friday, September 12, and ending the tournament with Big 10 opponent, Indiana on Saturday, September 13.
WHERE TO TUNE IN
• Thursday's match will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and Greg Miller will be live on sfavolleyblog.net
• Friday and Saturday's matches will only have radio with Greg Miller.
ABOUT THE LADYJACKS
• Head Coach Debbie Humphreys secured her 850th career win in a five-set thriller against Abilene Christian on September 5.
• With John Cook (NEB) and Mary Wise (FLA) announcing their retirements over the summer, Coach Humphreys is now one of two active coaches in Division I to win over 800 matches and is the only active coach to win 800 at one institution. She has the second most wins among active DI coaches with 850.
SCOUTING LOYOLA CHICAGO
• The Ramblers enter their home tournament with a 2-4 weekend. Loyola picked up two five-set wins over Drake and Illinois State.
• Freshman OH/DS Leyna Nguyen leads the Ramblers with 76 kills (3.17 per set) and has five double doubles.
• Freshman etter Ava Hunter runs the Loyola offense with 200 assists and two double doubles.
• Sophomore libero, Sam Falk leads the team with 15 aces and 106 digs (4.42 per set).
• Senior middle blocker Ann Marie Remmes leads the Ramblers in blocks with 30 followed by junior middle blocker, Avary DeBlieck who has 25.
SCOUTING BOWLING GREEN
• Bowling Green enters the Loyola Invitational with a 2-4 record. They picked up wins against Temple and Saint Mary's in the North Dakota State tournament before dropping three straight matches to ranked opponents in the Stacey Clark Classic, hosted by Purdue.
• Senior opposite hitter, Lauren Hovey leads the Falcons offense with 107 kills (4.28 per set) and 12 aces.
• Junior setter/right side Amanda Otten runs the BGSU offense with 221 assists (8.84 per set).
• Sophomore defensive specialist, Sydnie Hernandez leads the back line with 79 digs.
• Redshirt sophomore middle blocker, Helen Wilford leads the Falcons with 25 blocks, followed by freshman middle blocker, Kendall Williams who has 21.
SCOUTING INDIANA
• Indiana enters this weekend with a perfect 5-0 record which includes a five-set win against RV Miami in the season opener.
• Senior outside hitter, Candela Alonso-Corcelles leads the offense for the Hoosiers with 72 kills (4.24 per set).
• Freshman setter Teodora Krickovic runs the Indiana offense with 182 assists (10.71 per set). She also leads the team with 11 aces.
• Freshman OH/DS Audrey Jackson leads the back line with 55 digs.
• Freshman middle blocker Victoria Gray leads the Hoosiers with 20 blocks.
SERIES HISTORY
• SFA leads the series against Loyola Chicago, 1-0. The last meeting was on September 5, 2019, in Chicago.
• This will be SFA and Bowling Green's first meeting in program history.

• The best surface in the world is now in Nacogdoches, and it will rightfully bear the name of one of the best volleyball coaches in the nation who has called SFA home for 37 years. DUAL THREATS
• Katherine Holtman earned Southland Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording 42 kills, four aces, 14 digs, 12 blocks and hit .315 during SFA's home tournament.
• Molly Cravens earned a spot on the SFA All-Tournament team after recording 24 kills, 13 blocks and hitting .340 on the weekend.
• Jayden Flynn also earned an All-Tournament spot with 85 assists, 35 digs, three straight double-doubles, and four aces. Her fourth ace was her 140th of her career which ranks her 10th All-Time in aces in SFA history.
RETURNEE RUNDOWN
• The 'Jacks return 84.58% of their offense and 77.24% of their defense from the 2024.
• SFA's 11 returning players accounted for 89.58% of sets played, 94.89% of kills, 72.06% of digs, 74.31% of assists, 96.72% of blocks, 78.33% of aces, and 91.36% of points scored.
• All three First Team-SLC Selections return for the 2025 season.
2025 SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
• The 'Jacks 2025 slate features three NCAA Tournament teams from last season; Texas State, Loyola Chicago, and SMU.
• SFA will host two home tournaments hosting Louisiana, Abilene Christian, and Sam Houston from September 4-6 followed by SMU and UTEP on September 18 and 20.
• The Ladyjacks will face a tough set of opponents at the Loyola Chicago tournament where they will match up with the Ramblers then Bowling Green before closing the tournament against Indiana on September 11-13.
• The Southland Conference slate for the Ladyjacks opens with the defending Tournament Champions, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders and will wrap up with a home-and-home against Lamar before the conference tournament in Commerce.
