NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team will hold a cancer awareness game against McNeese on April 25th at 5:30 p.m.
Fans will have an opportunity to join the softball team in honoring special people in their lives who have been affected by cancer.
"I play for my mom because she is the strongest person I have ever met," said senior pitcher Alexis Telford "Even though she lost her battle with cancer last year, her strength and determination inspires me every day."
"I play for my grandma because she has always supported me no matter the circumstances and is one of the most loving people I have ever met," said sophomore outfielder Kaylee Paul "I also play for Coach Dobrinski because she would be the first person to pick me up on a bad day, and she was always smiling and radiating positive energy every day at practice."
"I play for my sister who I have always looked up to," said senior third baseman Hope Lusk "Her strength and resilience continue to inspire me every day. Losing her to cancer has only deepened my commitment to raising awareness and fighting for a cure."
