NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer took a close 1-0 loss to the East Texas A&M Lions on Thursday, October 9.
East Texas A&M tallied the only goal in the match when Trinity Egerton was able to capitalize on a free kick from just on the edge of the Lions' attacking third with only seven minutes of the match remaining.
East Texas A&M recorded 11 shots with four shots on goal. Trinity Egerton recorded one goal with two shots on goal. Gillian McKenzie totaled seven saves against SFA with 90 minutes of play time. Alana Lawless-Felarca led East Texas A&M in shots with three, as seven Lions recorded a full match.
SFA outshot the Lions with 28 total shots, led by Brielle Buchanan, Alexis Miller, Taylor Dodson, and Logan Heausler. SFA had seven shot takers, matching the Lions with five Lumberjacks accounting for multiple shots on the evening.
