
SFA Draws with Lamar University in a 1-1 Match

Taylor Dodson records her third goal of the season, joining two other Lumberjacks with three goals.
BEAUMONT, Texas – Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer tied with Lamar University in a 1-1 battle on Sunday, October 5.
Taylor Dodson got the 'Jacks started early, scoring in the opening five minutes of the match, and continues her scoring now with goals in back-to-back matches. Logan Heausler picked up her second assist of the year, setting up Dodson on a cross-pass to bury one in the back of the net. Lauren Smith collected her 10th goal for the Cardinals in the 27th minute on a free kick just outside of the box to even the score at 1-1.
Lamar recorded 16 shots on the afternoon, with half being on target. Lauren Smith was a factor in four of those shots, leading the team, with seven Cardinals recording at least one shot on goal against SFA. Eloise Bywater played 90 minutes, recording six saves and allowing one goal.
SFA tallied 12 shots, with four coming from freshman Taylor Dodson, as one found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. Alexis Miller and Bryn Geppert each recorded 90-minute matches as they both recorded one shot on the afternoon. Eight different Lumberjacks accounted for the 12 shots in the match, with seven being shots on goal. Sierra McCluer recorded a six-save performance in her 90 minutes while allowing one goal.
SFA draws to the Cardinals, setting the series history record at 16-5-1, with this being the first time each team has walked away with a draw.
