
SFA Caps Regular Season with Commanding 2-0 Victory Over Nicholls

Kamrynn Davis scores first career goal as SFA closes regular season with shutout win.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin women's soccer captured a 2-0 victory over Nicholls on Sunday, October 26, at the Chopping Block.
SFA was able to open the scoring in the second half, in the 67th minute, when Kamrynn Davis pushed into the Lumberjack attacking third. Davis was able to shake off multiple defenders before finding a gap on a sliding effort to clear one just past the goalie. 11 minutes later, in the 78th minute, Alex Bayouth was able to find a rebound shot from Taylor Dodson to net the second goal for the 'Jacks on the afternoon.
Nicholls offense was limited, with just eight shots recorded in the match, with three on net. Samantha Doyle and Kaylie Harris led the charge with two shots apiece. Aislinn Wright collected 10 saves this afternoon and allowed two goals on 12 shots on goal.
The Lumberjacks controlled the match for the full 90 minutes, with 26 shots and 12 on target. Brielle Buchanan took nine shots on the afternoon, followed by Sydney Williams, Logan Heausler, Alex Bayouth, and Alexis Miller with three shots. On defense, the 'Jacks set the tone, only allowing three shots on goal, all saved by Sierra McCluer as she caps off the regular season with nine shutouts on the year.
SFA now awaits the conclusion of the Southland regular season to determine their seeding in the SLC Soccer Tournament, which begins on November 4.
