SFA Looks to Keep Momentum Rolling in Late-Season SLC Battle at UIW

The ’Jacks head to San Antonio for the sixth time in series history for a pivotal Southland Conference matchup.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin women's soccer makes their way to San Antonio for their matchup against UIW at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 23.
The 'Jacks currently have a strong hold on the series, leading the Cardinals with seven wins and only three losses, with the last matchup resulting in a 1-0 victory for UIW in 2024. The Cardinals handed SFA one of their two SLC losses, and only shut out in 2024.
SFA looks to strike back against UIW after taking the close loss last year. The 'Jacks captured a 2-0 win in their match against HCU in Nacogdoches on Sunday. Brielle Buchanan and Alexis Miller both grabbing a goal from that match, as Buchanan netted her fifth goal to tie Taylor Dodson in SFA scoring. Sawyer Kohutek held down the back line last match, grabbing a Southland Honorable Mention Defensive Player of the Week award. Sierra McCluer currently has eight shutouts as she pushes to reach the 10 shutout mark with two games left.
