
'Jacks Complete Two Meets Over the Weekend

Notre Dame Invitational
SOUTH BEND, Indiana - The SFA track and Field team competed in the Notre Dame Invitational this weekend. The meet was hosted by Notre Dame.
The main story of SFA's travel to South Bend this weekend was the men's 3,000 meters, as the Lumberjacks once again dominated the event. Elkana Kipruto picked up his second win of the season with a time of 8.11.35. Kipruto also won the men's mile at the Leonard Hilton Invitational. Riley Elliott and Wyatt Hoover weren't far behind, though, as they placed third and fourth. Elliott got his second top-three finish with a time of 8.25.72, and Hoover finished in fourth place with a time of 8.28.32.
On the women's side, Valentine Jemutai notched the Lumberjack's lone top-10 ranking with her fifth-place finish in the women's 3,000 meters. She ran a 9.47.79.
Nevada Invitational and Multi
RENO, Nevada - The Lumberjacks also had athletes competing at the Nevada Invitational and Multi, hosted by the University of Nevada.
The 'Jacks only had one athlete competing on the men's side as Ayden Colbert competed in the men's heptathlon. He was very successful, as his 4,669 points were good enough for fourth place.
For the women, SFA had two top-ten finishes, both coming from the women's pentathlon. Kenisa Meyer placed third in the event with 3,596 points, while Basia Mitchell placed sixth with 3,522 points.

The Lumberjacks will travel back to Houston to compete in the Robert Platt Invitational on January 31st and February 1st.
