Lumberjacks Clip Golden Eagles for Second Straight Win

TULSA, Okla.- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (2-1-2, 0-0-0) picked up their second straight win as they knocked off the host Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (2-5-1) 2-0 in a Sunday matinee matchup by a score of 2-0.
The Lumberjacks carried over their offensive pressure from their last game as they were in the Golden Eagles zone consistently in the first half and were rewarded with a goal midway through the first half as Maddie Bowers found Jayme Bailey on a pass that saw Bailey record her second goal of the season to put SFA ahead 1-0. The point for Bowers marked her second straight game with an assist, while Bailey also recorded her second straight game with a goal. The second half saw the Lumberjacks maintain a similarly dominating pace of play as the first half as they held the Golden Eagles to just two shots in the second half, while gaining a critical insurance goal over halfway through the second half as Maddie Bowers would net her second goal of the season off a pass from Brielle Buchanan to put SFA ahead 2-0. That goal would provide all the insurance SFA needed as they claimed their second consecutive win with a 2-0 win over the Golden Eagles on their home turf.
