Reaganne Crane Ties Single Game Scoring Record as Lumberjacks Win Their Third Straight

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (3-1-2, 0-0-0) continue to keep the goals coming at home as they dismantled the visiting UAPB Golden Lions 9-0 (1-5-1) on Senior Day at the Chopping Block thanks to four goals from senior Reaganne Crane to record their third consecutive win.
The Lumberjacks coming off another weeklong break came into their second home game of the season tonight looking to carry the wins and goals rolling in on Senior Day at the Chopping Block. The weeklong break seemed to do SFA well as they carried plenty of offensive pressure early into the game and were rewarded in the 14th minute when graduate defender Hadley Williams appearing in her first game this season for SFA made her presence felt early as she would net a goal off a corner kick from Reaganne Crane to give SFA an early 1-0 lead to record her first career goal as a Lumberjack. In the 26th minute, senior forward Maddie Bowers, fresh off a Southland Offensive Player of the Week nomination, picked up right where she left off last week as she would tally her third straight game with a goal to put SFA ahead 2-0. That score wouldn't last long as just 46 seconds later, fellow senior forward Jayme Bailey continued her scorching hot streak of goal scoring as well as she also recorded her third straight game with a goal to push SFA ahead 3-0. Less than two minutes later, the 'Jacks were on the scoreboard again as senior forward Reaganne Crane picked up her first goal of the night, which began a historic evening for her. Sophomore midfielder Brielle Buchanan would get in on the scoring fun for SFA three minutes later as she would net another goal for the Lumberjacks to make it 5-0 in favor of SFA. Crane would tack on her second goal of the evening just before halftime in the 39th minute to stake SFA to a 6-0 halftime lead.
The second half saw Reaganne Crane continue her unbelievable night as she would net her first career hat-trick in the 68th minute off a beautiful shot that snuck under the crossbar to push SFA even farther ahead at 7-0. However, that wouldn't be the end of the offensive onslaught from SFA as in the 74th minute, freshman defender Brinlee Weir would net her first career collegiate goal and first goal as a Lumberjack to make the score 8-0 in favor of SFA. However, the Lumberjack offense had one more surprise left in store for tonight as in the 86th minute, Reaganne Crane would put the cherry on top of her historic night by netting her fourth goal of the evening to record her first career haul and tie the record for most goals in a single game by a Lumberjack in school history to close out the scoring and give SFA a historic 9-0 win on Senior Day. The Lumberjacks strung together their third straight win tonight and have now scored 21 goals over their last three games, including 19 goals combined between their last two home games.
