Ladyjacks Cross Country Travels to Tyler for UT-Tyler XC Opener

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks cross country team will travel to Tyler, Texas to run in the UT-Tyler XC Opener Saturday, October 7th, 2024. The 5k run will start at 8:00 A.M. CT at Texas Rose House Park in Tyler, TX.
Only the women's team will make the trip to Tyler. Freshman Valentine Jemutai will make her Ladyjack debut and looks to be in the mix at the front of the race. Freshman Landry Perkin will also run on Saturday as she looks to carry momentum from the McNeese season opener where she was the top finisher for the Ladyjacks.
Saturday will mark the first time SFA has competed in the UT-Tyler XC Opener. Head coach Rob Hansen spoke about the meet saying, "With such a young group this year, I wanted to give the ladies an extra race opportunity, and this is the perfect venue for them to work as a group and get more comfortable trading in a collegiate setting."
