
Lumberjacks Travel to Lubbock to Play Red Raiders

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks travel to Lubbock, Texas for a midweek game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The Series
Tuesday's game will be the seventh meeting between the Lumberjacks and the Red Raiders. Texas Tech currently leads the all-time series with a 5-1 record. The two teams last met on March 30th, 2023, which saw a Red Raiders win by a final score of 13-5.
A Look at SFA
The Lumberjacks come into the game with a 3-22 overall record. After dropping a three game weekend series to the UT Arlington Mavericks. Despite dropping all three games against the Mavericks, the Lumberjacks offense was able to collect 32 hits on the weekend with 14 coming in the final game of the series. The 32 hits on the weekend are tied for the second most by the Lumberjacks offense since their four-game series against Central Michigan.
Tom Biggs had a huge offensive weekend going 6-for-13 at the plate with a .461 batting average. Biggs also collected three RBI's and crushed his third home run of the year. Jack James also had a good outing on the mound for the Lumberjacks. The southpaw made his first start since ULM on February 28th. James threw five complete innings and allowed five runs and eight hits.
The Lumberjack offense is led by Cole Hill's .308 batting average and 28 hits. After the weekend series against UTA, Hill is only two stolen bases away from tying Colton Griffin for the team lead in steals at 13. Reid Boyett still leads the SFA pitching staff with his 39 innings pitched and 6.46 ERA along with 30 strikeouts.
