
Lumberjacks Travel to face Baylor in a Midweek Game

WACO, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Baseball team will hit the road for a midweek matchup with the Baylor Bears on Tuesday, March 12th. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark.
The Matchup
Tuesday evening will mark the 13th time these two schools have played each other, with Baylor leading the series 12-0 dating back to February 11th, 2006. These two schools met most recently last season with Baylor winning 10-3 over SFA at Baylor Ballpark.
A Look at SFA
The Lumberjacks (3-15, 0-3 WAC) hit the road looking to put their most recent series against GCU behind them and will be looking for a big midweek win over Baylor. Nolan Brown had a good weekend series vs Grand Canyon University, hitting two more home runs, while freshman infielder Colton Griffin and senior Peyton Parker also hit long balls for SFA over the weekend. On the season, the Lumberjacks have hit 20 home runs as a team. Junior right hander Reid Boyett threw seven innings on Saturday against Grand Canyon, while the Lumberjack pitching staff struck out 18 hitters over the weekend bringing their season total to 138 strikeouts as a staff.
Nolan Brown leads the Lumberjacks with his .321 batting average this season, while also leading the team in home runs with six on the year placing him inside the top-50 in the nation for home runs. Colton Griffin currently ranks 4th in the nation in stolen bases with 12 and is one of only five freshmen inside the top-50 in stolen bases this season. Reid Boyett has thrown a team-high 27 innings this season, while Elian Balmaceda leads all 'Jacks pitchers with 21 punch-outs.

The Baylor Bears return home for the first time in four games and will carry a 4-11 record into this game. So far this season, Enzo Apodaca leads the Bears with a .375 batting average and two home runs while driving in a team-high 14 RBI's. Mason Marriott leads the Bears pitching staff with 19 innings pitched this season and a team-leading 24 strikeouts.
