SFA Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball program announced the 2025 spring schedule Thursday afternoon.
SFA will start the season at the Lions Classic hosted by East Texas A&M. The Lumberjacks season opener will be against Texas Southern on February 7th followed by a matchup with South Dakota State. SFA will continue the Lions Classic with a rematch against South Dakota State and South Dakota on February 8th and will play a second game against South Dakota on February 9th to finish out the tournament.
The 'Jacks will then head to Huntsville for a one-game matchup with the Sam Houston Bearkats on February 11th. SFA will then travel to San Marcos for the Bobcat Tournament hosted by Texas State on February 13-15th. The Lumberjacks will open up the tournament against host, Texas State on the 13th, then will play Fordham and Texas State on the 14th, and finish out the tournament with Fordham and St. Thomas on the 15th.
SFA will hit the road once again for the Battle on the Bayou in Monroe, Louisiana. The 'Jacks will open up with the host, ULM on February 20th, then face Eastern Illinois and ULM on the 21st, and finally finish the tournament against Southern on the 22nd.
The Lumberjacks home opener will a single-game match against former WAC foe the UT-Arlington Mavericks on February 25th.
SFA will head to Youngsville, Louisiana for their final tournament of non-conference schedule for the Mardi Gras Mambo from February 28th to March 2nd. The 'Jacks will play Iowa State and Monmouth on the 28th, Army and West Georgia on the 1st, and Maine on the 2nd.
The 'Jacks will head to Ruston, Lousiana for a single-game against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on March 4th before heading home for the first conference series of the season against Nicholls on March 7th and 8th.
SFA will make a quick trip down to Prairie View A&M for a game on March 11th before coming home for a series against Lamar on March 14th and 15th, followed by a game against Sam Houston on March 19th.
The 'Jacks will head to San Antonio for their first road conference series against the Incarnate Word Cardinals on March 21st and 22nd. SFA will then head to Austin for a matchup with the Longhorns on March 25th.
SFA will return home for five matches starting with a series against Houston Christian on March 28th and 29th followed by a doubleheader against Texas Southern on April 1st.
The Lumberjacks will head to Natchitoches for a series against Northwestern State on April 4th and 5th before returning home for a series against East Texas A&M on April 8th and 9th.
SFA will head to Hammond, Louisiana to face off against the defending champions on April 11th and 12th. The 'Jacks will return home for one game against Prairie View on the 15th before hitting the road for the final time in the regular season in Corpus Christi as they matchup against the Islanders on April 18th and 19th.
The 'Jacks will finish out the regular season at home beginning with a single-game against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on April 22nd, and then will face off against the McNeese Cowgirls on April 25th and 26th.
The Southland Conference Tournament will begin with bracket play hosted by the top two seeds from May 1st to 4th then the two teams that advance out of the bracket play will play in a championship series hosted by the highest seed from May 8th to 10th.
