Lumberjacks Fall to Cardinals

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin soccer team (8-3-2, 5-2-0 SLC) hosted Incarnate Word (7-6-2, 4-3-0 SLC) as they finished a three-game homestand.
Both teams fought tooth and nail for every second of possession. Neither team was willing to give an inch to the other which resulted in a defensive battle unlike the Chopping Block has seen this season. The score remained tied at zero at halftime, but the second half showed increased intensity.
The first and only score of the game came in the 81st minute off of the foot of Sierra Wannamaker of the Cardinals, 1-0. SFA continued to execute offensive pressure as they outshot the Cardinals 11-2 in the second half, but were unable to get an equalizer past the Cardinals goalkeeper.
