
SFA Track and Field Completes Samford Multis

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama- SFA's track and field team traveled to the Birmingham Metro CrossPlex to compete in the Samford Heptathlon/Pentathlon. The meet lasted for two days (Jan 18-19th) and consisted of four Lumberjack athletes.
Stephen F. Austin's men's team traveled with three heptathlon runners, while Christina Mudd was the sole runner for SFA in the women's pentathlon.
Mudd had an excellent performance for the women. She placed second in the women's pentathlon with her 3543 points and posted a new personal best. "Christina had a really great weekend in setting her lifetime best in shot put en route to a new pentathlon lifetime best", said Head Coach Robert Hansen.
The men's heptathlon consisted of Samuel Martinez, Ayden Colbert, and Cameron Antoine. Colbert finished ninth with 4388 points and Antoine finished 11th with 4105 points.
"All three of our heptathlon men set the tone for the season with strong performances. Ayden and Cam completed their first ever indoor multi and although they're young to being in multis, they show a ton of promise", said Coach Hansen.
Stpehen F. Austin's next opportunity to compete comes on January 26th. The Lumberjacks will travel to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the John Thomas Terrier Invite. The invitational will be hosted by Boston University.
