Ielan Bradley Passes 1,000 Career Points as Ladyjacks Earn Fourth Consecutive Sweep Against Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash.- Stephen F. Austin defeated Seattle University 3-0 Saturday afternoon. This is the fourth consecutive sweep for the Ladyjacks who have not dropped a set in conference play.
The 'Jacks jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first set and never surrendered the lead. Seattle fought hard in the first set and made it close, but SFA secured a 25-22 set victory. In the second set the 'Jacks began with an 8-2 spurt that was fueled by three kills by Ielan Bradley. Later in the set, SFA went on a five-point run that included back-to-back kills by Kyanna Creecy as the 'Jacks extended their lead to 19-9. SFA finished the second set on a 6-2 run as they cruised to a 25-11 second set victory. Seattle held a slim 4-3 lead early in the third until SFA went on a six-point run to take a 8-4 lead. Seattle fought back later in the set with a five-point spurt of their own to cut the lead to one. The teams continued to trade points, but the 'Jacks were able to secure a 25-23 third set victory to sweep Seattle.
SFA led Seattle in points (53.5-42), kills (40-33), aces (4-2), blocks (9-7), assists (38-32), digs (45-37), and hitting percentage (.284-.064). Bradley and Camryn Hill led the way for the 'Jacks with nine kills each, followed by Izabella Ortiz who recorded seven. Jayden Flynn recorded 20 assists followed by Maddy Bourque who recorded 11. Ariana Pagan and Haley Hoang led the Ladyjacks with 11 digs. The blocking duo of Bradley and Ortiz continued to rack up blocks as Bradley recorded five while Ortiz recorded four. Bradley also led the team with 11.5 points, including her 1,000th career point that she earned after getting back-to-back kills in the second set. She is the second Ladyjack to achieve this milestone this season as Pagan achieved this milestone against UT Arlington.
The Ladyjacks return home for two top conference matchups with California Baptist and Grand Canyon coming to the Pressure Cooker. CBU will play SFA on Thursday, October 5th at 6:00 p.m. and GCU will play SFA on Saturday, October 7th at 12:00 p.m.
