
SFA Opens Four-Game Homestand Against CBU

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The SFA Women's Volleyball Team kicks off their four-game homestand with a Pink Out match against CBU on Thursday evening.
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
Stephen F. Austin returns home after a two-game road trip in which they swept both Utah Valley and Seattle to run their record to 4-0 in conference games and have yet to lose a set in conference play. In their most recent match against Seattle, SFA led in points (53.5-42), kills (40-33), aces (4-2), blocks (9-7), assists (38-32), digs (45-37), and hitting percentage (.284-.064).
Ielan Bradley led the way against Seattle as she contributed both offensively and defensively for the Ladyjacks. Bradley tied for the team lead in kills with Camryn Hill as each finished with nine kills, while Bradley also led the team in blocks with five. Bradley finished the game with 11.5 points and with that earned her 1,000th career point. Bradley is the second Ladyjack to hit the 1,000-career point mark this season as Ariana Pagan achieved it against UT Arlington. Jayden Flynn dished out another 20 assists while Ariana Pagan and Haley Hoang tied for the team lead in digs with 11. The formidable blocking duo of Izabella Ortiz, who finished with four blocks, and Ielan Bradley defensively continue to keep SFA in sole possession of first in the nation in Team Total Blocks with 181.
Jayden Flynn continues to dish out assists at will as she has 373 assists on the season and averages over 20 assists a game while also leading the team in service aces with 18. Ielan Bradley continues to stuff the stat sheet for SFA as she leads the team with 212 kills on the season and is second on the team in blocks with 65. Haley Hoang continues to pace the Ladyjacks in digs with 275 on the season. SFA holds a 15-3 overall record, a 4-0 conference record, and a 8-0 home record. The Ladyjacks have won 23 consecutive games at the Pressure Cooker and will look to keep both their undefeated conference and home record intact against CBU. SFA's 23 consecutive home win streak currently places them second in the entire nation behind only Colgate who was won 32 consecutive home games.
Lancers at a Glance:
The California Baptist Lancers travel to Nacogdoches after wrapping up a short two-game home stint. In their most recent match, the Lancers fell to the ACU Wildcats in a tightly contested match 3-2 at home. Prior to that loss, the Lancers had won nine consecutive matches. On the season, Michalina Rola leads the Lancers on offense as she has a team leading 205 kills and 27 service aces. Meanwhile, Leah Pease has formed a dynamic duo with Rola as she has 371 assists on the season. Defensively, Mia Jerue has 202 digs to lead all Lancers players while Chandler Gorman, who has 57 blocks, and Laura Walewska, who has 52 blocks, play large roles on defense for CBU. The Lancers enter the match against SFA with a 10-5 overall record, a 3-1 conference record, and a 4-1 away record.
Series: This will be the Ladyjacks third meeting with the Lancers. These two schools met twice last season with SFA winning both matches. The first was a regular season matchup at the Pressure Cooker which saw SFA sweep the Lancers 3-0 at home.
