
Ariana Pagan Notches her 1,000th Career Point as Ladyjacks Defeat the Mavericks for their Second Consecutive Sweep

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin defeated UT Arlington 3-0 Monday night as they earned their second consecutive conference sweep and their 22nd consecutive win at home, which is second in the nation.
The first set was tightly contested as neither team held larger than a three-point lead until the 'Jacks went on a four-point spurt to take a 20-16 lead. Back-to-back kills from Ielan Bradley and Ariana Pagan secured a 25-20 first set victory for the Ladyjacks. SFA started off the second set with a 6-1 run fueled by two kills from Bradley and Camryn Hill. Later in the set the 'Jacks went on a five-point spurt and took a commanding 12-3 lead. SFA had another 5-0 run toward the end of the set as the 'Jacks cruised to a 25-12 second set victory. UTA fought back at the beginning of the third set, but SFA went on another 5-0 scoring run and took an early 11-6 lead. The Mavericks cut the lead down to two, but the Ladyjack offense got hot again on a four-point run to extend their lead to six, 19-13. SFA won six of the final ten points of the match as they secured a 25-17 third set victory.
SFA led UTA in points (59-34), kills (44-32), aces (5-0), blocks (10-2), assists (40-30), digs (40-33), and hitting percentage (.337-.119). Bradley led the team with 11 kills, followed by Hill who recorded 10. Maddy Bouque and Jayden Flynn finished with 18 assists. Izabella Ortiz once again led the 'Jacks with six blocks, followed by Alleah Dallas and Tanishua Joseph who each recorded four. Haley Hoang led the team with 11 digs, followed by Pagan who recorded seven. In the second set, Pagan notched her 1,000th career point.
The Ladyjacks hit the road as they head to Utah to face off against the Utah Valley Wolverines in a rematch of the WAC Championship on Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 p.m. central time.
