Ladyjacks Fall to No. 18 Bears in Waco

WACO, Texas- Baylor University defeated Stephen F. Austin 3-0 Tuesday evening. SFA finishes the non-conference slate with an 11-3 record.
Baylor took the first three points and never looked back. The 'Jacks had a three point run later in the set, but the Bears offense was clicking on all cylinders as they took a 25-14 first set victory. The beginning of the second set was tight as kills from Ielan Bradley and Camryn Hill got the offense going a bit as the Ladyjacks took their first lead of the match 5-4. Points were traded back and forth for a while until the Bears went on a 5-0 spurt, 12-8. Baylor had another four-point run later in the set as they won the second set 25-15. In the third set, Baylor jumped out to an 11-5 lead, but the 'Jacks fought back with kills from Tanishua Joseph and Ariana Pagan to cut the lead down to four, 21-17. The Bears were able to hold off the Ladyjacks from making a comeback in the third set as Baylor won the set 25-21.
Bradley led the 'Jacks with 10 kills, followed by Pagan who recorded six. Jayden Flynn led the team with 15 assists, while Maddy Bourque recorded 14 assists. Bradley also led the team with two blocks, four other Ladyjacks recorded a block. Haley Hoang led the team with seven digs, followed by Pagan and Joseph who each recorded four.
SFA will be back at the Pressure Cooker on Saturday, September 23rd as they begin their WAC schedule with UTRGV. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
