EDINBURG, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Volleyball team continues their four-game road trip with a road match against the UTRGV Vaqueros.
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
Stephen F. Austin is coming off a pair of commanding wins in Utah which saw them handily defeat both Utah Tech and Southern Utah 3-1. The Ladyjacks will now put their 10-game win streak against the UTRGV Vaqueros looking to stay undefeated in conference play. In their most recent match against Southern Utah, SFA led in points (66-52), assists (47-42), kills (53-45), hitting percentage (.357-.126), and blocks (9-3).
Ielan Bradley continues her dominant season for the Ladyjacks as she posted impressive numbers on both sides of the court against Southern Utah. Bradley led the team in kills with 15, led the team in blocks with five, and finished the game with a team leading 17.5 points. Camryn Hill and Izabella Ortiz both posted nine kills to help round out a strong offensive attack for the 'Jacks. Meanwhile, Jayden Flynn recorded 23 assists and surpassed the 500-assist mark on the season. Maddy Bourque recorded another 20-assist game for the Ladyjacks while adding a service ace and five digs. Another solid defensive game for the Ladyjacks was led by Bradley's five blocks, followed by Izabella Ortiz and Kyanna Creecy who each tacked on four blocks. Ortiz currently sits at 112 blocks on the season, which ranks her eighth in the entire nation. Meanwhile, Haley Hoang continued to be a dig machine for SFA as she led the team with 14 digs, followed by Camryn Hill and Ariana Pagan who each posted seven digs.
The Ladyjacks will carry a dominating 10-game win streak and a perfect 10-0 conference record into this game against the Vaqueros. Overall, SFA sits at a 21-3 record on the season and holds a 6-2 away record. With their win over the Thunderbirds on Saturday, SFA clinched a spot in the WAC Tournament that will be hosted at Utah Valley from November 16-18th.
