Volleyball Heads to Mississippi for the Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program continues its non-conference schedule at Southern Miss in the Southern Miss Invitational. SFA looks to build momentum after sweeping the SFA Hampton Inn Invitational last weekend.
In the game against Tulsa, Senior Ariana Pagan led the offensive attack for SFA with 14 kills and was three digs away from recording a double-double. Leah Powell did record a double-double in this game with 11 kills and 10 digs. Maddy Bourque led the Ladyjacks again with 26 assists, she also had six aces in this game which is a career high. Reigning WAC Defensive Player of the Week, Haley Hoang led the defensive effort for SFA with 28 digs.
In the matchup with South Alabama, Camryn Hill and Pagan both recorded double-doubles with 13 digs and 13 and 12 kills respectively. Hill led the Ladyjacks in kills. Bourque led the team with 28 assists, while Flynn recorded 20. Hoang led the Ladyjacks with 25 digs, including her 1,000 career dig which she recorded in the middle of the fourth set.
In the McNeese match, Ielan Bradley led the SFA scoring attack with 11 kills, followed by Izabella Ortiz who recorded nine. Bradley and Ortiz got help from Bourque and Flynn who recorded 19 and 16 assist respectively. Hoang continued to lead the defensive effort of the Ladyjacks as she recorded 17 digs, followed by Pagan and Powell who had nine.
Series
This will be the first matchup between the Ladyjacks and the Devilettes, the third matchup with the Golden Eagles, and the 15th matchup with the Huskies.
