Volleyball Defeats Arkansas State to Finish 3-0 in the SFA Hampton Inn Invitational

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin defeated Arkansas State University in three sets Saturday afternoon in the final game of the second SFA Hampton Inn Invitational.
SFA won the first set (25-17), the second set (25-18), and the third set (25-21). The Ladyjacks led the Red Wolves in points (58-39), kills (44-26), aces (8-7), assists (37-25) and digs (52-38). Each team recorded six blocks in this match. Early in the first set, Senior Ariana Pagan recorded her 1,000th career dig as she went on to record her second double-double of the weekend with 11 kills and 10 digs. Leah Powell and Ielan Bradley finished second on the team with eight kills. Jayden Flynn once again led the team in assists with 18, while Maddy Bourque recorded 15. Kelsey Harrington, Izabella Ortiz, and Bradley each recorded three block assists in the match. Two-time WAC Defensive Player of the Week, Haley Hoang once again led SFA with 16 digs, followed by Pagan and Powell who had 10.
The Ladyjacks start conference play next week on Thursday, September 22nd against Tarleton State at 6:30 p.m. in Shelton Gym.
