Ladyjacks Bounce RedHawks and Advance to WAC Tourney Final

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – No. 2 seed Stephen F. Austin defeated No. 3 seed Seattle U 1-0 and advanced to the WAC tournament final versus No 1 seed Grand Canyon.
The Ladyjacks will need to defeat the Lopes twice on Saturday to claim the championship. Game one is set for 1 p.m. and game two will immediately follow with both games on ESPN +.
WAC Pitcher of the Year Kassidy Wilbur (20-13) was dominant in the circle. The senior tossed her second complete-game shutout of the tournament – both against the RedHawks. WIlbur scattered three hits, walked two batters and struck out five batters.
Senior Mackenzie Bennett delivered an RBI double to left center in the third inning to score Gaby Garcia.
Bennett and Garcia each batted 2-for-3. Sydnee Hebert and Sydney Carithers each added a hit.
