Sugar Bears Slip Past Lumberjacks in Conway on Friday, 2-1

CONWAY, AR -- The Lumberjack soccer team battled for 90 minutes against a familiar foe in Conway, Arkansas on Friday night, but saw the Sugar Bears of Central Arkansas take a late lead en route to a 2-1 decision over the Lumberjacks. The match moves SFA's record to 2-1-2 on the fall non-conference season, and concludes their competition until the spring season.
Katelyn Termini netted the 'Jacks lone goal in the game's 51st minute, scoring on a penalty kick to equalize the affair after a penalty goal scored by the hosts just five minutes earlier. The second of two matches between these two teams during the fall 2020 season, the rematch was a lively affair, as the Sugar Bears narrowly outshot the Lumberjacks (14-9). The match saw a fair amount of physical play, as a total of 21 fouls were called between the two teams in addition to three penalty kicks awarded.
Madeline Talbot (2-1-2) took the tough decision inbetween the sticks, as she turned aside six shots in 90 minutes and allowed one goal in the run of play.
