
Track and Field Records Multiple NCAA Qualifying Marks in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas – The aptly named Last Chance Meet bore fruit for the SFA Track and Field team on Sunday in Abilene, Texas, as several athletes punched their ticket to the NCAA Preliminary Rounds to take place later this month. The one-day meet took place inside ACU's Elmer Gray Stadium on Sunday, and featured competition by a handful of Lone Star State programs.
TOP SFA PERFORMERS
• The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Imani Nave, Aaliyah Teel, Dominique Jackson and Cayla Burch demolished the school record in the event by more than three seconds with a time of 3:35.16. That time ranks seventh in the West Region and 16th nationally.
• Freshman Nastassja Campbell improved on her previously qualified mark with a clearance of 4.36m (14-3.5), a new outdoor personal best.
• Isaiah Pittman qualified with a long jump effort of 7.64m (25-0.75), the second-longest performance of his career.
• Heptathletes Jillian Turner and Caitlin Lennon each notched personal bests in the open 400m hurdles at 100:59 and 1:01.74, respectively.

SFA will next be in action the at 2019 NCAA West Preliminary Round in Sacramento, California on May 23-25. The NCAA Championships will take place in Austin, Texas on June 5-8.
