
SFA Places Three Relays in Top Eight at Final Day of Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas -- On the final day of the 92ndAnnual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, the SFA Track and Field team was carried by the performance of a trio of relay teams to finish the meet in strong fashion. SFA also got a strong individual finish from Branson Ellis in the pole vault.
TOP SFA PERFORMERS
• The women's 4x800 relay team of LaSean Davis, Caitlin Lennon, Allison Compass and Madison Compass finished third overall in the even and demolished the school record in the event with a time of 8:54.50, bettering the previous school mark by 13 whole seconds.
• The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Drake Murphy, Isaiah Pittman, Muzuri Mattar and AJ Bennett placed fifth in the event with a time of 3:09.98.
• In the women's 4x400 meter relay, the squad of Imani Nave, Aaliyah Teel, Dominique Jackson and Cayla Burch ran to an eighth-place finish with a mark of 3:39.27.
• Branson Ellis accorded himself well in the pole vault, reaching a new PR with a height of 5.45m (17-10.5), a new outdoor PR.
SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE RANKS
• The Ladyjack's mark of 3:39.27 in the 4x400 relay was the best in the Southland Conference this season.
• The Lumberjack mile relay stayed put with the second-best time in the Southland Conference this season.
• Ellis' mark in the vault is the second best in the Southland Conference thus far.
UP NEXT
SFA returns to the friendly confines of Nacogdoches and Homer Bryce Stadium next weekend (Apr. 4-6). for their lone home meet of the season, the Carl Kight Invitational. The multi-events competition will open the meet on Thursday, with the bulk of the running and field events to follow on Friday and Saturday.
