THE FIRST SERVE
• Winners of two of its last three matches, the SFA tennis team continues its six-match swing by returning to Southland Conference action this weekend. First up for the Ladyjacks is a Friday afternoon meeting at Lamar before SFA closes out its two-match Southland swing with a matchup at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Sunday at noon.
• In the current edition of the Southland standings, the Ladyjacks are tied with Southeastern Louisiana for seventh-place. The Ladyjacks have six more league matches remaining on their regular season schedule.
• Nida Kamal is riding a two-match winning streak in singles action heading into this weekend's matches.
• Armelle Cerdan and Darinka Tiboldi are tied for the team lead in singles wins with seven each. That duo has combined to produce exactly half of the Ladyjacks' one-on-one victories this season. Tiboldi leads the team in Southland wins having gone 3-1 in league action thus far in 2019.
• In doubles action, Gabi Guilarte and Kaja Ljubic have totaled half of SFA's 14 wins. That pair has posted a 7-6 record while competing on the top line and is 2-3 against Southland Conference doubles foes.
• In their most recent action, SFA took two out of the three matches it played last weekend in Ruston, La. The Ladyjacks defeated SWAC foes Prairie View A&M and Grambling State 4-0 before falling to Louisiana Tech by the same score.

• Back in Beaumont for their final two home matches of the season, the Cardinals are hoping to put an end to a two-match losing streak when the Ladyjacks come to town. Most recently, Lamar dropped a 4-3 decision at Southland foe Northwestern State but so far in 2019 all four of its wins have come at home.
• Second-line stalwart Bianca Vitale has accumulated a little more than one-quarter of the Cardinals' singles victories this season. Vitale's record stands at 9-5 which features a 2-2 showing against Southland Conference foes.
• Sanja Jolic, who has competed exclusively in the third singles flight this year, owns an 8-6 record in one-on-one matches. Additionally, her three Southland singles wins are the most among the Cardinals' ranks.
• In doubles action, Lamar owns a 10-24 (.294) record with three of those wins coming courtesy of the Jasmin Buchta/Amelie Vossgaetter tandem on the number-one line. That pair has won back-to-back matches and holds a 3-7 record on the year.
• Natalia Molina and Vitale have turned in a 3-6 record when competing alongside one another on the number-two doubles line. They own one of the Cardinals' three Southland Conference
doubles triumphs.
• The Cardinals have won three of their last five matchup with SFA including the last two.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M-CORPUS CHRISTI | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS
• Heading into their two-match weekend on a four-match winning streak, the Islanders currently sit in fourth place in the Southland standings with their 3-1 league record. Texas A&M-Corpus Christ's lone Southland setback - just its fourth league loss in the last four seasons - came at the hands of Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La., on Friday, March 1.
• As a team, the Islanders have posted a 50-22 (.694) showing in singles action and a little more than 20-percent of this wins have come courtesy of Mariya Shumeika. Her 11-2 record includes a 4-0 showing in Southland matches while playing on lines three and four. She is one of two Islanders riding a seven-match winning streak in singles play.
• Kei Kato (8-2, 4-0 Southland) is the other Islanders who has won seven-straight singles showdowns. Kato is 8-1 when competing on line two and is joined by teammate Myu Kageyama (8-5, 3-1 Southland) with eight singles wins on the year.
• Doubles action has seen the Islanders post a 17-14 (.548) record which includes a 4-7 showing in Southland play. Shumeika has teamed with Carolina Bulatovic to go 5-5 in doubles play with all 10 matches coming on the top line.
• Kageyama and Kato are also at the .500 mark in doubles play, owning a 3-3 mark that includes a 2-2 ledger against Southland foes. Those two compete exclusively on line two.

• SFA concludes its six-match road trip with a stopover in Edinburg, Texas, for a non-conference matchup against UTRGV. First serve between the Ladyjacks and Vaqueros is set for 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Orville I. Cox Tennis Center.
