AUSTIN, Texas -- The SFA track and field team opened up competition at the 92nd annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday inside Mike A. Myers Stadium. The meet resumes on Friday morning with the men's discus at 9:00 a.m. and the running of the 4x100 relay at 9:35 a.m. In addition to the group competing at the Texas Relays, a pair of distance runners ran in the Mike Fanelli Classic in San Francisco and a pair of throwers competed at the Texas State Invitational.
TOP PERFORMANCES
• Drake Murphy placed fourth in a highly competitive 800m field with a time of 1:50.57.
• Cord Neal took ninth in the men's javelin with a distance of 60.72m (199-02).
• Trenton Bridges competed unattached at Texas State, finishing third in the discus throw with a distance of 52.23m.
MOVING UP IN THE SOUTHLAND
• Dominique Jackson's time of 1:01.48 in the 400 meter hurdles moved her into second in the Southland Conference in the event.
• Neal's distance in the javelin is the second-highest in the Southland Conference this season.
