Ladyjacks suffer shutout loss to Lady Techsters
RUSTON, La. - Seeking its third-straight win, the SFA tennis team suffered a 4-0 non-conference setback at Louisiana Tech Sunday afternoon from the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex.
DOUBLES
• SFA managed to collect just six total games in doubles action against the Lady Techsters. Gabi Guilarte and Kaja Ljubic dropped a 6-1 decision to Sonia Chen and Ilana Tetruashvili on the top line while Nida Kamal and Kyndall Misak suffered a 6-2 setback to Ana Jover and Claudia Oravcova in the second set.
SINGLES
• Louisiana Tech completed the shutout by scoring three singles wins in quick succession.
• Armelle Cerdan's third-flight match ended with a 6-2, 6-3 victory by Tetruashvili.
• Chen took down Guilarte 6-2, 6-1 on the top line while Darinka Tiboldi dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Jover in flight two.
• On line six, Misak collected a 7-5 win over Leonie Nutz in the opening set but the match was left unfinished after the Lady Techsters locked up their singles wins in the first three flights.
• Kamal and Andria Perez-Lopez were deadlocked at 6-6 in the fifth set when the match came to an end, too.
COMING UP NEXT
• The Ladyjacks return to Southland Conference action when they head to Beaumont, Texas, for a Friday match at Lamar. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
