LEADOFF HITS
• In search of a fourth-straight victory for the first time in 2019, the SFA baseball team hits the road for a Tuesday afternoon non-conference tilt at Prairie View A&M. First pitch at Tankersley Field has been set for 3:00 p.m.
• Senior right-hander Austin Hearn gets the start for the 'Jacks. In the only other starting assignment of his collegiate career, Hearn fanned four batters in five innings of work to pick up a win during the 'Jacks' 9-4 non-conference triumph over Texas Southern on March 6, 2018.
• The 'Jacks are 1-3 (.250) in non-conference road games this season with their lone win coming on Sunday, Feb. 24, at UT-Arlington. That night, SFA scored an 11-9 victory in 10 frames over the Mavericks.
• SFA's last winning streak of four or more games came last season when the 'Jacks won five in a row from March 21-27.
LAST TIME OUT | HOUSTON BAPTIST SERIES
• Another sterling three-game effort by SFA's pitching staff helped the 'Jacks secure their second-straight Southland Conference sweep last weekend. SFA bookended its 3-0 weekend with a pair of shutout victories - 6-0 on Friday night and 1-0 on Saturday afternoon - and gave up only two runs over the three-game set against Houston Baptist. Those two runs are the fewest given up by SFA in a three-game Southland series in program history.
• SFA's two shutout wins against the Huskies represent the second-highest total of Southland shutouts tossed by the 'Jacks in a single season. In 2013, 2011 and 2007 SFA finished with a program-best three shutout wins in Southland play.
• Alex Palmer started the series with a 10-strikeout performance through seven innings of action. Those 10 punchouts upped his season total to 44 which are the most by any pitcher in the Southland Conference and the 14th most in the nation. The junior picked up the win, improving to 2-1 on the year and 2-0 in Southland play. In his two Southland starts, Palmer owns a 0.60 ERA, a .137 BAA and has fanned 19 through 15 innings of work.
• Saturday starter Jaxon Covington and Sunday starter Jacob Stobart each improved to 2-0 in Southland play. In relief, Jesus Gamez notched one save while Jeremy Rodriguez added another.
• In Sunday's 1-0 win, senior infielder Manny Vasquez blasted a solo homer in the bottom of the second inning. That long ball stood up as the game-winner in SFA's first 1-0 Southland Conference regular season win since May 8, 2015 at Lamar.

• Over that stretch, Vasquez batted .412/.474/.824 and finished with three RBI on the strength of four doubles and one home run.
• The senior is currently the owner of a team-best seven-game hitting streak and has at least one hit in five of SFA's six Southland games this season.
